Adult western drama following British London Times correspondent J. B.
The run breaks into several distinct periods: CBS sustained run (February 2, 1958 to November 16, 1958) on CBS Radio Network.
Names that turn up again and again in the surviving run include John Dehner (performer), Antony Ellis (creator, director, and producer), Jerry Goldsmith (composer, performer, and conductor), Harry Bartell (performer), Virginia Gregg (performer), Jack Moyles (performer), and Vic Perrin (performer).
Across its run, the surviving broadcasts are tied to CBS Radio Network, Armed Forces Radio and Television Service, and Armed Forces Radio Service.
The stories often return to historical figures and events of the West, stagecoach, cattle trail and frontier travel, outlaws, gunfighters and violent crime, gambling, saloons and games of chance, Native American relations and frontier conflict, and gold, mining and claims.
The show also sits in a wider radio history that includes Late-network adult western tradition, British correspondent framing the American frontier, Post-Civil-War western territories, and CBS sustained drama in network radio decline.
