Mr. Colby reveals a secret ambition to become a songwriter and asks Mel to use his supposed show-business connections to get a singer to hear his new tune. Mel manages to bring the performer in, only for her to recognize Colby’s ‘original’ song as music she already knows, collapsing both men’s artistic pretensions.
