Mel wants to take Betty to the Postman’s Ball, but Mr. Colby insists she help entertain a visiting sardine-company executive. Discovering the guest is a fellow Zebra, Mel helps Colby through a checker game that accidentally impresses the visitor enough to secure a valuable sardine order, winning Betty permission to go out even though Mel’s tickets are for the wrong Saturday.
