Oil engineer Humphrey Ward boards the Taurus Express for home and is drawn into a dangerous web of refugees, couriers and enemy agents. After a gunfight leaves two suspected Greek travelers dead, British authorities accept the matching testimony of Ward and his companions and uncover that the dead men were Axis operatives traveling under false identities.
