The Man Who Liked Dickens

An English traveler lost in the Amazon is rescued by the isolated Mr. Todd, whose hospitality has one condition: his guest must spend hours every day reading Dickens aloud. Todd repeatedly delays any chance of escape, starves the traveler when he refuses to read and even deceives a rescue party by giving them the man's watch and a grave as proof of death, condemning his captive to a lifetime of Dickens readings.
