Jealous J. F. Morner goes to the isolated Snake Doctor's cabin intending to kill him and steal the money hidden there. After Morner dies from terror while reaching into the cache, his son accuses the Snake Doctor of using a deadly cottonmouth; the supposed snake is revealed as a stuffed decoy, while barbed wire around the hiding place explains the marks on Morner's hand.
