Mate Doyle sails aboard a freighter carrying a shipment of rifles to Central American strongman General Topaz, while tension grows among the captain, shipper and passengers. At the destination Topaz discovers the crates contain useless imitation rifles, exposing a double-cross and leaving Doyle and his companions facing a drunken firing squad.
