Beyond Midnight
Beyond Midnight is South African radio horror with a colder, more supernatural emphasis than many American anthology series. Produced for Springbok Radio, it moves through ghosts, madness, uncanny encounters and literary adaptation with a restrained style that often lets the story’s premise create the fear.

A South African horror and supernatural anthology built around standalone tales of ghosts, psychological terror, the uncanny, and other dark subject matter.
South African horror/supernatural anthology produced by Michael McCabe as the successor to SF68.
The run breaks into several distinct periods: Springbok Radio run (November 1, 1968 to April 24, 1970) on Springbok Radio.
The stories often return to haunted rooms, houses and enclosed spaces, ghosts, hauntings and supernatural visitation, fear, obsession, madness and psychological terror, murder, death and lethal intent, ships, sea travel and maritime horror, and fate, revenge and supernatural consequence.
The show also sits in a wider radio history that includes South African commercial radio anthology, Transition from science fiction to supernatural horror, Biotex-sponsored commercial radio, and International horror literature adapted for South African radio.
