A dramatization of Elliott Arnold's Tomorrow Will Sing follows Italian-American airman Eddie Amato as he helps villagers near his wartime base understand American democratic ideas. The farmers come to trust Eddie while confronting old fascist influence and unfair economic practices, but he is later court-martialed after being accused of robbing local peasants. Testimony finally exposes a former Blackshirt's son as the real thief, clearing Eddie; the story closes with Eddie sent on to the Pacific and remembered in the village as proof that democracy can be expressed through ordinary decency.
