Silver Annie

Virtue City is dying, and railroad men need a right-of-way through the old Huxley mine, but stubborn Annie Huxley refuses to give up property she still believes contains silver. Her relatives use her behavior and a shooting incident to try to have her declared incompetent. Britt has ore from the mine assayed and produces a rich result at the hearing, making Annie's belief look reasonable enough to stop the commitment. Annie privately reveals that Britt used old ore from the mine's original strike, but the excitement sends prospectors back into the district and soon leads to a genuine new silver discovery.
