Roger Belmont enters a marriage of convenience with Kitty so he can protect his financial position while expecting eventually to return to Helen. Although the arrangement is supposed to remain strictly business, Roger and Kitty fall genuinely in love. When Helen confronts them, Kitty tries to walk away, but Roger chooses his wife and the temporary arrangement becomes a real marriage.
