A dramatized adaptation of George and Helen Papashvily's immigrant memoir follows George from Georgia to the United States as he searches for work, meets other immigrants and Americans, and travels across the country. His adventures with jobs, trucks, friends and fellow newcomers gradually change his view of what it means to belong in America. The story culminates in a communal toast to a country made up of people from many backgrounds and to the hope that people everywhere can learn to live together the same way.
