Palmerston is actually the thief and plans to frame ex-convict Wardell with a fake Hornet mask, but the real Hornet exposes the setup and leaves Palmerston to be caught with the stolen jewelry; afterward Lenore Case reveals she has secretly discovered Britt's double identity and insists she can handle knowing the truth.
