Mel Clemens and Adler Ferris discover gold in Bitter Creek but cannot claim it because the land belongs to the townspeople, so they fake a richer strike elsewhere and lure nearly the whole town away; Cisco and Pancho arrive to find Bitter Creek deserted, survive the outlaws' gunfire, rescue the wounded sheriff, and force the pair to confess before the residents return to share in their own gold.
