Red Toomey and his gang ride into Mesquite planning to take over the town, and Cisco helps the elderly marshal arrest Toomey. The gang forces blacksmith Mike Werfel into helping with a jailbreak, but Cisco turns the scheme against them, jails the gang, then rides after Toomey when he threatens the marshal at his ranch and defeats the outlaw in a final showdown.
