The aircraft is tied to a Central City bank robbery in which ,000 and securities were taken and a guard was killed, so Gene, Pat and Sheriff Dillon organize a large search through the rain-soaked hills. Gene eventually confronts and subdues the fugitive robber, and the story ends with the storm breaking and a rainbow appearing before the broadcast returns to western music.
