Remington and his mate Haggart reach a hidden Pacific island while searching for black pearls and discover that its ruler, Jerome, controls access through a concealed gate in the reef. Remington falls for Jerome's daughter Mikaela and plans to escape with her, but Haggart betrays the plan and tries to steal the pearls; after the betrayal ends violently, Remington recovers the treasure, keeps only enough for Mikaela and throws the rest back into the sea.
