Sailors regard a handsome sailing ship as a murderous jinx after a long history of fatal accidents, but she behaves peacefully while brothers Ned and Charlie Wilmot sail with Maggie aboard. After the ship finally claims Maggie, Charlie sends the crew away and deliberately drives the vessel onto the rocks, dying with the engagement ring he had meant for her clenched in his hand.
