Exhausted after a night with a sick child, Dr. Christian dozes in his office while worrying that he has promised a fresh story for a children's Valentine party. In his brief sleep he is summoned by a fairy from a second plane of existence and carried by magic carpet through a comic fantasy world of operators, trolls, fairies and strange rules to a golden palace where a young prince is in severe pain. Christian learns that the prince had visited the human world and eaten unripe apples. The court's mysterious magical illness turns out to be an ordinary stomachache, and a simple first-plane remedy quickly puts the prince right. The grateful fairy kingdom sends Christian home with a souvenir. He wakes after only a few minutes and tells Judy the whole impossible adventure as the new story for the children. Judy dismisses it as a dream, until Christian produces the physical souvenir he was given in the fantasy world.
