Judy believes she has been corresponding personally with movie star Joseph Cotten and is dazzled by promises of a screen test and romantic attention. The letters are really part of an elaborate prank, and when the real Cotten arrives in town the deception begins to unravel. Cotten plays along long enough to help expose the scheme while Oogie struggles with jealousy over his famous rival.
