Eddie Gillespie develops a remote Caribbean island as a resort and plants fake pirate relics as a tourist attraction, but greed overwhelms the project when Amanda, Brewer and beachcomber Clive become entangled in the hunt for treasure. Violence follows, the resort is abandoned, and the jungle steadily reclaims everything Eddie built. Obsessed with beating Clive and finding the hidden chest, Eddie remains behind digging while Clive repeatedly moves the treasure and mocks his futile struggle.
