Navy flyer Brady and his crew are forced down on a Pacific island and discover an underground society made up of humans who represent the next stage of evolution. Their hosts intend eventually to take control of civilization as humanity's superior guardians; Brady escapes by raft and returns years later to warn the world, only to be committed as insane by a doctor who is secretly one of the advanced beings.
