A dramatization of correspondent Tom Treanor's One Damn Thing After Another recounts his comic and dangerous path from low-priority, often unauthorized war reporter to an accepted front-line correspondent. Treanor talks his way toward the fighting, borrows transportation, joins a bombing mission against orders, is repeatedly reprimanded or expelled from theaters of operation, and keeps mailing full newspaper stories when other correspondents cable theirs. The broadcast then steps outside the book to note that Treanor later covered Normandy for the Los Angeles Times and NBC and was killed in action, ending with a roll of newspaper and radio correspondents who had died covering the war.
