Sheriff Billy

New young sheriff Billy Riddle astonishes Dawson by arresting notorious gunman Ben Reed without even drawing. Britt later learns why Reed surrendered so quietly: before becoming an outlaw he was Blake Riddle, Billy's estranged father, who abandoned his old identity after his wife left with their son. Billy does not initially know the truth, but Reed cannot bring himself to fight the boy who has grown into the lawman confronting him. He allows Billy to deliver him to the marshal and, contrary to everyone's expectations, makes no attempt to escape.
