More Than Kin

Britt becomes involved with a struggling theatrical troupe just as they learn P. T. Barnum is in town and plans to see their performance. Determined not to lose the opportunity, the actors hurriedly revive their canceled show, and a last-minute cast problem presses Britt into a role in Hamlet despite his complete lack of stage experience. His armed, imposing presence unexpectedly quiets the audience and helps the performance succeed. Barnum praises the troupe and even offers Britt a theatrical future, but Britt decides that facing an audience is more frightening than gunplay.
