When a ,000 shortage appears in the controller's office, clerk Madge Hartman is found shot beside a forged confession and part of the missing cash. The real thief, Barton, has arranged a seemingly perfect out-of-town alibi, but the Green Hornet moves the body, gun and money to Barton's Millville property. Confronted with evidence placing the crime inside his own alibi, Barton confesses to the embezzlement and murder.
