After financier James Hartford kills himself following a ruinous double-cross by former associates, his nephew Charles becomes the murderer known as the Claw, killing Cornwall and marking Murray and Britt Reid as future victims. The Green Hornet recognizes the claw-on-a-roost symbol and the three-o'clock pattern, prevents Charles from killing Murray and leaves him for police to arrest.
