A nervous little man called Shorty hires Shayne to hide him and help locate Big Ed Lasky, only for Shayne to discover Shorty is an escaped prisoner wanted for murder. Shorty insists he was framed and wants Lasky’s confession; Shayne eventually hears Lasky admit the setup, clearing Shorty, but must stop the exhausted fugitive from turning vindication into revenge murder.
