Harry Golder emerged from the Detroit radio world that produced several of old-time radio's most durable adventure series. A Wayne University yearbook identified him among former students who had become announcers at WXYZ, the station that originated The Lone Ranger, The Green Hornet and related productions.
Golder became one of the announcers associated with The Lone Ranger. Contemporary program histories place him in the line between earlier announcers and Fred Foy, who became the voice most listeners now remember. Foy later recalled that Golder left WXYZ in 1948 for an opportunity on the West Coast, opening the announcing position that Foy inherited. That transition makes Golder part of the show's institutional history even though later nostalgia often jumps directly to his successor.
Golden Radio Hour currently verifies 15 performer-index appearances by Golder between 1947 and 1948, while the broader people index carries 32 Lone Ranger announcer/performer credits. His profile preserves a working announcer whose career sits inside the WXYZ production system rather than outside it.
